Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin is the first in the world of high-performance sport-utility truck (SUT). We are looking to take Ford performance to an entirely new market segment with the Sport Trac Adrenalin, "says Steve Lyons, vice president of Ford Motor Company and president of Ford Division." Adrenalin is designed to offer a unique combination of performance and functionality.
Adrenaline combined all the best of two breakthrough Ford vehicles - Ford SVT F-150 Lightning and Ford Explorer Sport Trac. It also offers in-class technologies, including four-wheel drive, six-speed automatic transmission and Ford's industry-leading AdvanceTrac ® with Roll Stability Control (TM). It offers four full-sized doors, four bucket seats are reinforced, and four-foot composite box with 30 percent more capacity than the current Explorer Sport Trac.
"We have a very clear idea of what we want to do to maintain its leading position in the performance of Ford vehicles," says Phil Martens, group vice president, product creation. "It involves going beyond traditional SVT products with unique features specifications, such as all-wheel-drive." Sport Trac Adrenalin delivers searing acceleration with its 4.6-liter 32-valve DOHC V-8 engine train. Roots-type supercharger and water-air intercooler to increase production by a whopping 390 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.
It has a six-speed automatic transmission - a first for any SVT vehicle, which has proven capable of heavy-duty, contributing to the projected 6,000-pound towing capacity Sport Trac Adrenalin. "In addition to providing a certain position on the surface of the spot, there is a performance advantage to all-wheel drive," says Jay O'Connell, SVT chief vehicle engineer. "Long-standing problems with performance trucks was their inability to" connect "with the place without excessive wheel spin. This AWD system puts power down through all four wheels, helping Adrenalin launch with impressive authority."
With a supercharged, 390-horsepower V-8, the first six-speed automatic ever featured in a vehicle SVT and SVT-tuned fully independent suspension, Adrenalin promises the acceleration, agility and utility. Providing an added measure of security and control in slippery or emergency maneuvers, all-wheel-drive system, combined with industry-exclusive Ford safety system, AdvanceTrac ® with Roll Stability Control (TM).
